Hey You! See that picture there, that’s me – Tom. Sometimes, if it’s a little chilly you may see me in a big brown poncho stomping round campus. Under these circumstances I will also answer to “Poncho” or “Poncho Tom”! Having just graduated from my undergraduate degree in International Politics, I now have the momentous task of supporting and representing you lot (students) as the Guild’s Student Support Officer. My job is basically half campaigns organiser, half trouble-shooter and half student representative – and clearly not a mathematician. My remit is focussed around the welfare issues that students come up against in their daily lives here in Aberystwyth – personal, financial, housing problems, health and accessibility. I as well as supporting you and running campaigns, I shall also be representing your interests on University committees and meetings that concern your welfare – pushing the university for more equitable, efficient, transparent and enhanced services and procedures. Please feel free to drop me an email or come by and see me if have any questions, want to get involved in campaigns or need any kind of support. I shall endeavour to do all I can to help you, or at least set you up with someone better qualified. My office - G4 - is ‘strategically’ placed through the back of the Underground food court in the Union. Even if you just need to unload some banter I will be happy to oblige. Poncho OUT!
