Hi my names Alun Minifey, but most will know me as Min; I will be your activities officer once again for the forthcoming year. For those that don’t know me I have graduated in History, I have had 4 awesome years here and I thought I might as well squeeze one more year out, and help you! I have spent most of my time in the last 4 years in the union so I thought id just move in.

My job is to handle the sports and the societies of this university and get you out of the library. Aber is a great place and the sports and societies that you join here are a great foundation to build your Aberystwyth experience and Aber life around. Becoming a member of the clubs and societies here will truly enhance you as a person and in doing so gain some lifelong friends. It is my job to provide the opportunities for you to do this and it is a goal that I am fully committed to. I want you to enjoy your time here in Aber as much as I have so get involved!

The university offers such a diverse range of sports and societies so there is always something for you to get stuck in to. Whether you’re interested in Dance, Literature, Music, Football, Politics, Netball or Ultimate Frisbee the university offers a huge choice. Even if you don’t fancy anything why not start your own?? We have everything here for you, whether it on campus or the surrounding areas we can cater for any needs.

My other roles include organising events like the Aberystwyth Rugby 7s weekend, the Society Quizzes, BOSCAS, Varsity (which were obviously going to win!) and of course Superteams! Along with these I’m here help with the day to day running of clubs and societies, from BUCS games to committee issues, any problems you have big or small I’l do my very best to solve them. Now I’ve actually realised how much I’ve got to do I better get to work!

My office is located in the Union just through the double doors at the end of the Underground corridor; feel free to pop in at anytime my door will always be open!
