Executive CommitteeWhat is it?The Executive Committee ensures that Guild policy and General Meeting decisions are implemented. On a day-to-day basis this is delegated to the 5 sabbatical officers. The Executive Committee will receive reports from its member Officers on areas of concern, campaigns and action. The Executive Committee reviews current Guild policies, recommends amendments to policy to General Meetings or submits policy motions to General Meetings. Who attends?

Staffing CommitteeWhat is it?The Guild’s Staffing Committee is responsible for the staff structure, terms & conditions and staff employment policies. Staffing Committee is a ‘closed’ meeting and access to its minutes is restricted to those attending. Who attends?Guild President How often does it meet?Fortnightly
Steering CommitteeWhat is it?Exists to ensure the smooth running of General Meetings, Annual General Meetings and Extraordinary General Meetings. This is done through the preparation of submitted motions, counting votes, raising points of order and advising the Chairperson. Who attends?Five members elected during the Annual General Meeting and the Guild Chairperson How often does it meet?As required in the run up to a GM, AGM or EGM and during the meeting itself
Bilingualism CommitteeWhat is it?The Bilingualism Committee is responsible for advising the Guild on bilingualism matters, monitoring the implementation of the Bilingualism Policy, to review and advise on amendments to the policy and to adjudicate on breeches of the policy. Board of InquiryWhat is it?A Board of Inquiry may be established at the request of a General Meeting, the Guild Executive or a petition from Guild members to investigate issues of concern arising through the actions of Guild Committees or to investigate ‘no-confidence’ motions in Guild Officers. Who attends?Sabbatical Officer (as Chair) (In the case of all Sabbatical Officers being investigated the Guild’s General Manager will assume the Chair) Six members selected at random How often does it meet?Only when called upon |
