Here at Aber we have a great deal to offer in terms of the societies that currently exist and joining one or more of these can enhance your time at university immensely. There are a number of ways to join a club society and these are detailed below:
- During Freshers Week, there will be a Societies Fayre. This day provides our current societies with an opportunity to present themselves to you and to give you a chance to have a chat and ask any questions you wish. You can join just one of the societies or you can join all of them, it's entirely up to you.
- In addition to the fayres during Freshers Week, there is also a Re-Freshers Fayre, which takes place midway through the year, this gives you a second chance to sign up with a society should you have missed the earlier fayre or simply fancy trying something different.
- Finally, should you have missed both of the above, don't worry. Our website is home to a full list of all the societies and also the contact details of their respective committees. Therefore, you can e-mail them to find out any information you want including when they next meet. Additionally, many societies have their own websites that can be accessed through this page allowing you to have a browse at what they have to offer.
Remember! To join a society, you must own a Board of Societies (BOS) card. Again, these are available to buy using the application form in your university mail out pack, at the Freshers Fayre's during Freshers week and finally at the Sports and Societies Office located in the Students Union building.
