The Students' Union Shop offers a while-you-wait binding service where you can bring in your dissertation and within minutes walk away with a bound book!

Our while-you-wait binding service is available for both hardback and softback bindings and spine printing is available for both binding styles.

Documents up to 38mm thick can be bound in softback and up to 28mm in hardback. Hardback prices depend on the thickness as follows. Please note that the page counts below are general guides.

Dissertation binding
Please take in to account that our binding service is very popular during the undergraduate dissertation deadline period in Semester 2. Whilst each binding takes just minutes, please leave enough time to ensure you are able to get your dissertation bound and handed in in time!

What do I need to do to get my dissertation bound?
Bring your printed pages, in the right order, to us and we can do the rest. Make sure everything's there and check for any special requirements set by your department.

Can you add my name and the title to the spine?
Yes. Usually this can be added to hardback and softback bindings. There is an additional £1 charge for this.
What is normally printed to the spine is your name, the dissertation's title and then your degree (eg. BSc), the institution (Aberystwyth) and the year... like this:

Where does my declaration sheet go?
If your department asks for a declaration of originality sheet to be included with your dissertation, you'll need to check with your department as to whether it is bound in with the rest of your dissertation or simply attached to it.

Ooops! I've noticed a mistake on one of the pages. Can I replace that page?
Maybe. It depends on the type of binding you had, it's size and a host of other things! Bring it in and we'll see if we can help but be prepared just in case we can't help and you need to have a whole new binding (which is chargeable).
