We're all happy people here at aberguild.co.uk and we want to make sure our visitors are happy too. Because of this we've laid down the following house rules that we ask all our forum users to adhere to.

1. The forum is operated by Aberystwyth University Guild of Students (the Guild, us, we) on our website at http://www.aberguild.co.uk.
2. In order to participate in the forum you are required to register with us. (This is normally by using your Aberystwyth University login details via the secure login facility. -- when it's set up and working)
3. Any message posted here express the views of the author and not necessarily those of the Guild. The Guild is not responsible for any message posted on the forum unless otherwise stated.
4. Forum messages are reactively moderated. We do not review messages before posting and rely on other members of the forum community to alert us to messages deemed objectionable.
5. Be nice to each other and respect the moderator. You agree that you will not use the forum to post material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. If you have a problem with another member turn to the respective moderator.
6. We can and will remove objectionable messages within a reasonable time frame if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process and may not be possible to immediately undertake. Our right to remove/edit messages may be used for any or no reason whatsoever.
7. Redistribution of copyrighted material is not permitted on the forum unless you are the full copyright owner. No warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to content of a questionable nature (e.g. anything you don't own and/or have downloaded), asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.
8. We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. We also reserve the right to suspend your access to the forum and/or work with Aberystwyth University to identify users and take further action where appropriate.
9. Commercial traders are not permitted to advertise their business or services in any way or form without the explicit permission of the Guild. If you would like to advertise on this website, and/or through other advertising opportunities that we offer, please contact union.marketing@aber.ac.uk.
10. Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.
11. Aberystwyth University has a bilingual website translation policy in accordance with its Welsh Language Scheme. This means that priorities are in place so that the basic structure of the Guild website is bilingual but not necessarily the main body e.g. forum posts are mostly in English. We welcome contributions to the website in either language, but please be aware that some people might not understand Welsh.
12. These rules are in addition to any rules and regulations set out by the Guild's Constitutional policies and procedures, and the University's Information Services Regulations and Guidelines.
